Liska Botha

SENIOR PHYSIOTHERAPIST

More About Liska

I grew up in the Lowveld and graduated from Stellenbosch University with a degree in BSc Physiotherapy. Living by the motto that life is what you make of it! I am an extrovert and therefore getting all my energy from working with people. I enjoy the outdoors especially when exploring it through hiking and deep sea diving. I have a big passion for running, crossfit and swimming.

"Ek het besluit om ‘n fisioterapeut te word omdat ek van kleins af baie sportbeserings gehad het en die frustrasie daarvan verstaan. Hierdie het my aangemoedig om die beste terapeut vir my patiënte te wees en almal so gou as moontlik pynvry te kry!"

Sheen Akassa

SENIOR PHYSIOTHERAPIST

More About Sheen

I graduated from the University of Cape Town with an Honours degree in Physiotherapy in 2020. I completed my community service at Joe Morolong Memorial Hospital in Vryburg. I worked in private practice in Rustenburg as well as a disability claims assessor for Momentum.

I love interacting and working with people, making a difference in other people’s lives even in the smallest way. Being a physio allows me to empower, educate, encourage and treat patients to perform and return to their highest functional level.

What conditions do you treat at PhysioFirst?

At PhysioFirst, we treat a wide range of conditions including headaches, back and neck pain, joint pain (shoulder, knee, elbow, wrist), and sports injuries.

We also offer specialized services like strapping, dry needling, sports massages, and cupping to support your recovery and overall well-being.

What can I expect during my first physiotherapy session?

During your first session, our experienced physiotherapists will conduct a thorough assessment of your condition, including your medical history and current symptoms.

Based on this evaluation, we will develop a personalized treatment plan tailored to your specific needs and goals. We will also provide you with education and strategies to manage your condition and prevent future issues.

What should I wear to my physiotherapy appointment?

For your physiotherapy appointment, we recommend wearing comfortable, loose-fitting clothing that allows easy movement.

If you are receiving treatment for a specific area, such as your knee or shoulder, it is helpful to wear clothing that provides easy access to that area.

Athletic wear, such as shorts or leggings and a t-shirt, is typically a good choice.
